Nail Art Design Maintenance

Once you have done your nail art, it is understandable that you would want to have it as long as it is humanly possible. No one will blame you as nail art can be really time consuming and also, even if you create a nail art by copying another pattern, every nail art is actually an original. Because you have invested your time, money and creativity in creating your beautiful nails, here are some ways to maintain their exquisite beauty.

Always allow your nail colors to dry before adding another coat except if you want to blend them. Being impatient will only frustrate you and waste your time and money. Redoing a nail art over and over again will only discourage you. The faster you finish, the better you will feel about your nails.

When applying nail polish, make sure that your coats on each nail are consistent. If coats are uneven, those nails that have thinner coats will chip easier. Nail polish bottles should not be shaken to achieve the consistency you want because shaking will only fill it with air bubbles. These little bubbles are very hard to get rid of when applied on the nails. Instead of shaking, roll the nail polish bottle between your two palms to achieve the consistency you need.

Always remember to run your nail brush on the edge of your nails because these are the places that usual wear away the most easily. Running the edges with nail polish will ensure the prolonged life of your nail art and prevent it from flaking and looking sloppy or cheap.

Use high quality products like nail colors and clear polishes to be sure that your nail art will last longer. Cheap nail colors, polishes or polish removers do not last because their chemicals are of low quality. They usually wash or break away easily even if you try all you can do to maintain it.

After finishing your nail art, remember to put a top coat of clear polish to seal in your design. Do this every two or three days to preserve the fresh and shiny look of the nail art. If it is available, use an airbrush to apply the clear coat of your nail air. An airbrush is much better compared to an ordinary nail brush because it will not drag the surface of the nail art.

Use gloves when doing housework that requires the exposure of water, dirt or hard surfaces like dishwashing, laundry or gardening. Water weakens the nails and prolonged exposure can wash away parts of your nail art. Dirt can be very hard to get rid of when attach themselves on nail art because too much rubbing can damage the polish surface. Hard surfaces can flake nail polish and destroy the nail art and even damage your nails in the long run.

Remember that even if nails are durable, they are not meant to be tools. Thus, avoid using your fingernails in opening bottles, pushing hard buttons, pulling stickers and so forth. Also, avoid biting or rubbing together your nails when you feel anxious or bored. Always grab things using your fingers and palm and not just your fingernails. The less friction your nails get, the longer it will last. It is not advisable to eat using your hands when you have nail art, more so if your nails have embedded rhinestone on them.

And when you decide to remove your nail art, do so using acetone or nail polish remover. Rubbing off the nail color using hard implements or by your fingernails can damage the surface of your nails.
